Philosophy
SM Digital Ventures is a South African technology company developing digital products for different audiences and real-world needs. We build products people can actually use — starting with a real problem, designing carefully around the people affected by it, and shipping something dependable rather than something loud.
Every product is built end-to-end in-house — product design, development, content and community partnerships — and each one is developed as a distinct platform for its intended audience, with separate experiences, purposes and safeguards.
EduCare and Ember are separate products serving different audiences — a parent-controlled learning platform for Grade 4–7 families, and a dating and social networking platform for adults.
Based in Kayamandi, Stellenbosch, and connected to the communities the company's products aim to serve.

EduCare is an AI-powered learning companion for Grades 4–7, supporting Mathematics, English Home Language and IsiXhosa Home Language. It guides learners step-by-step rather than simply giving them answers, while giving parents oversight of their child's learning.
Dating, done differently.
Ember is a dating and social networking platform for adults, built around verified profiles and real intent to address a genuine trust gap in online dating.
Ember partners directly with local restaurants and venues to turn matches into real, in-person dates — not more swiping.
